What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Executive - Technical Learning & Development Sales position at UMBC Training Centers?
UMBC Training Centers is seeking to hire an experienced Account Executive to work directly with clients, identifying their training goals to determine which UMBC Training Centers' solutions can meet them. This position is focused on Corporate and Government group training business development and account management. Duties include but are not limited to: regularly meeting revenue goals, prospecting for new clients and opportunities, logging all correspondence in appropriate systems, and ensuring that every client experiences a successful delivery of UMBC Training Centers’ programs.
Who Are You?
You are a positive, well-organized individual with excellent customer-facing skills who is local to the Baltimore, MD/ Washington D.C./ Northern VA region. You have a minimum of three (3) years’ sales experience, including demonstrated experience working with senior contacts from both corporate and government clients who focus on Leadership Development, Artificial Intelligence, IT, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, HR, and/or Project Management. You are comfortable negotiating large transactions, working with various productivity tools, and building professional networks within organizations. You demonstrate high attention to detail, thrive working both autonomously and as part of a collaborative team, and are passionate about individuals, teams, and organizations who are curious to learn and improve.
Job Duties
- Develop and maintain assigned client and customer relationships
- Conduct detailed and thorough research and analysis to identify new clients, customers, and opportunities
- Educate assigned clients and customers on UMBC Training Centers’ products and services
- Communicate with clients and gather information about their training requirements, including scope, budgets, and timeline
- Own responsibility to meet and exceed revenue goals by maintaining active continuous outbound prospecting
- Utilize contact/lead databases, Hubspot, Salesforce, and Office365 to keep record of all communications with clients
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent work or military experience.
- At least three years of business development experience
- Experience working with Senior IT, PM, HR, and C-Level leaders/executives from both corporate and government clients
- Live local to the Baltimore, MD, Washington D.C., Northern VA region
- US Citizenship
- Solid written, verbal, communications, and presentation skills
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to self-manage, self-motivate, problem solve, and meet goals and deadlines
- Proficiency with office/productivity applications – Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Slack, Word
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience involving technical training and/or leadership development programs, either as a practitioner or from a business development perspective
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence, IT, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Project Management, and/or Leadership Development products and services
- Experience working with tools like ZoomInfo, Leadership Connect, and LinkedIn to build professional networks
- Familiarity with GSA eBuy and SAM for tracking government opportunities
- Ability to successfully work in an open office environment, travel to client sites as needed, and succeed working remotely when necessary.
- Live within easy commute (less than 45 minutes) to Columbia, MD
Hours
This is a full-time salaried position working Monday – Friday. The hours vary but are typically 8am – 5pm Eastern.
