What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus/Charter Driver position at UMBC Transit?
The incumbent will operate transit and coach style commercial passenger vehicles. Specific duties include: transporting passengers to various locations; ensuring the safety of all passengers; ensuring the operational readiness of equipment; and performing basic maintenance service activities. Position will be approximately 20-30 hours per week depending on positions available.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma or GED and two years of full-time experience in the operation of medium or heavy duty commercial passenger vehicles. Must possess CDL w/ passenger endorsement and air brakes and have a good driving record. Knowledge of DOT safety standards required. Position requires working evenings and/or weekends.
Note: Employees in this position title must maintain the required driver's license with no more than 5 points and will be subject to drug and alcohol education and testing as required under U.S. DOT and the State of Maryland regulations. Employees will be subject to pre-employment and random drug testing as well as a criminal background check.
