Job Summary:
The Material Management Buyer/Planner is responsible for managing the sourcing, procurement, and planning of materials to support Del Medical’s production operations. This role ensures that materials are available to meet production schedules while maintaining optimal inventory levels. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to optimize costs, improve efficiency, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement & Sourcing:
- Source, evaluate, and procure raw materials, components, and supplies required for manufacturing medical imaging equipment.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, contracts, and pricing.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials by monitoring lead times and addressing supply chain disruptions.
- Production Planning:
- Collaborate with production teams to develop material requirement plans (MRP) based on sales forecasts and customer demand.
- Create and adjust production schedules to align with material availability, minimizing downtime and production delays.
- Coordinate with engineering, quality assurance, and other departments to ensure materials meet technical specifications.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain optimal inventory levels by analyzing usage patterns, lead times, and safety stock requirements.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and audits to ensure inventory accuracy within ERP systems.
- Implement strategies for just-in-time (JIT) inventory and reduce excess stock to improve cash flow.
- Supplier & Vendor Management:
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Manage supplier relationships and negotiate terms to ensure alignment with production and business needs.
- Identify and develop new suppliers to support business growth and diversify the supply chain.
- Cost Control & Budgeting:
- Monitor procurement spending, ensuring adherence to budget and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare and present regular reports on material costs, inventory status, and procurement efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes to optimize costs.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all procured materials comply with regulatory standards, including FDA and ISO requirements for medical devices.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation related to purchase orders, supplier certifications, and material specifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement, material planning, or supply chain management, preferably in the medical device or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and material planning software.
- Proven negotiation skills and the ability to manage supplier relationships.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
