POSITION OVERVIEW
The Credit and Collections Manager supports the Business Relations Manager in all aspects of the business and its functions. This role will oversee the Accounts Receivable team, handle all reporting to Corporate (Construction Resources), ensure customers maintain payment expectations and review areas of the business that need help. This role will also be utilized to help support the organization in achieving operational excellence in the areas identified and will be subject to evolve and change as the business needs evolve and change.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for establishing a working knowledge of the credit principles set forth by the company Logistics.
- In this role, it is important to be comfortable working with different types of software in order to obtain the information needed. Keeping detailed notes in each account is imperative to provide a historical account of decisions, progress made, and information discovered.
- Manage the Accounts Receivable Team for the North, Central and South branches and any new support as needed.
- All Accounts Receivable monitoring, inclusive of monthly reporting, end of month preparation and submission, and handling of high-profile customer accounts
- Review of Customer Terms / Provision of special terms on orders / Credit Releases on high profile customer accounts
- Credit Hold notifications on high-profile customers as needed
- Assist the A/R team as needed with any issues, disputes or back-up on responsibilities as needed
- Review and submission of customers to outside collections
- Process new applications, review credit reports and advise on applicable terms that are acceptable based on Account Manager recommendations and knowledge in the field
- Handle HR related issues with the team, integrating support from your manager(s)
- Assist A/R team with any issues, disputes or as back-up when needed for assigned duties
- Review of PNC Bank accounts for discrepancies or issues.
- Review of Chase Bank account for discrepancies or issues
- Training and / or AR Orientation as requested / required for respective UMI branches
- Build up each Branch to UMI, LLC expectations by supporting each in training, solutions, or improvements
- Support for all Branch Managers, Account Managers, etc. in their daily responsibilities and work to streamline any problems going forward
- Processes and Procedures
- Help develop training SOPs for new and existing employees
- Maintain communication with other departments/offices/salespersons to address areas for improvement, proactively offering solutions and implementing changes. Document billing discrepancies and resolve customer-specific recurring billing issues proactively.
- Nurture, build and maintain trusting, ethical and influential relationships within the organization and with team members.
REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledgeable in QuickBooks
- EXCEPTIONAL organization and planning skills
- Energetic and confident in engaging with business owners and staff
- Very strong interpersonal communication skills
- Experience in sales, customer service or other people-oriented fields is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- Good mathematical skills with experience using Microsoft Office software with an emphasis on Outlook and Excel.
