Hiring Salary Range: $63,000 - $66,000 per year
About UMOM New Day Centers: Founded in 1964, UMOM is Arizona's largest provider of services for families experiencing homelessness. Our mission is to end family homelessness by restoring hope and rebuilding lives. With an annual operating budget of $20 million dollars, UMOM provides shelter, supportive services, and housing programs to families and individuals experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County. UMOM serves over 15,000 unique individuals across all our services annually, including those families receiving support at the Family Housing Hub, Maricopa County's family coordinated entry system.
Position Description: The Accounts Payable Coordinator manages the accounts payable for UMOM and the related organizations. This position participates as a member of the finance department in financial recordkeeping and month-end preparation. This position also acts as an assistant to the VP of Finance and the Finance/Payroll Manager to ensure an adequate system of accounting records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitors and maintains vendor files, including W9s, Workers Comp and Liability Insurance, vendor contacts and emails.
- Reviews and negotiates vendor payment terms to leverage cash flow output.
- Completes full cycle accounts payable processing including invoice processing and payments for all entities.
- Takes an active leadership role in GL coding of expenses with a firm understanding of budget line items.
- Provides a high level of customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Provides GL support to all departments and performs duties required for the monthly financial close.
- Processes annual 1099 forms.
- Oversees company credit card program including ordering new cards, cancellations, purchase limits and GL postings.
- Oversees on-line Employee Out of Pocket reimbursement program.
- Manages online Amazon and Walmart business account
- Banks deposits and postage meter reporting.
- Manage finance department SharePoint internal page for communication, policy, and department forms
- Manage updates of policy and form documents related to finance department
- Assist CFO with facilities maintenance schedules
- Other duties as assigned by Leadership and/or executives.
Qualifications and Competency Requirements:
Experience and Education
- High School or GED Diploma, required
- Bachelor's degree, ideally in a related field, preferred
- Minimum 3 years of accounts payable experience, with at least 2 years in high volume accounts payable with budget of $20M .
- Previous experience in complex general ledger coding strongly preferred
- Knowledge of non-profit/social sector; experience working with underserved or disadvantaged populations is a plus.
Computer skills
- Proficiency with applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Sharepoint and Outlook.
- Previous experience with accounting software
Compliance
- Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card or the ability to obtain one
- Ability to clear the Central Registry Screening from the Department of Child Safety & Adult Protective Services.
- Ability to comply with and pass all required background check and drug screening requirements, including but not limited to pre-employment and random drug screening as required/requested.
- Valid AZ Driver's License and a driving record that falls within UMOM's policy
- 50/100 level of car insurance coverage.

Work Schedule: The typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, normal business hours, with flexibility to occasionally work evenings and weekends to support the needs of the position and the organization. This position allows for a hybrid model working from home one day each week.
