Accounting Manager Job Compensation:
- $72,916.00 to $94,696.00 Per Year Exempt (depending on experience).
Accounting Manager Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Housing Centers and overall housing grant management and it’s financial and program reporting of it’s monthly, quarterly, and applicable close out. Other grants as appropriate may be assigned.
- Monitoring of actual financial results compared to budget and communication to appropriate levels to ensure funds are not overspent.
- Analysis and forecasting of current financial position to the unspent funds or budgeted transaction level to ensure proper budget compliance with the funding source and communicate results to the appropriate personnel.
- Ongoing review of financial transactions that include invoice, travel reports, personnel time sheet activity coding. Ensure transactions are compliant with applicable financial or purchasing and program policy requirements to ensure transaction’s adherence with them; initiate necessary corrective action for any non-compliant items.
- Coordinate and process request from external auditors, including financial audit as well a program monitoring.
- Supervise, coach, and develop the financial liaison and support team.
- Manage general ledger functions along with balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Maintains cash flow, post cash receipts, and banking relations.
- Manage leases, rental receivables, and payments.
- Manage UMOS’ commercial insurance alongside General Counsel Department.
- Month end administration, earned revenue, salary accrual, fringe benefits entries, and related monthly close.
- Prepares tax reporting for property tax payments, low-income housing tax returns, and other annual reporting returns.
- Facilitate and manages UMOS’ financial audit and prepares audited financial statements
- Maintain and participate in the ongoing department activities that comprise the Company’s internal control environment with focus on Uniform Guidance 2 CFR regulations pertaining to not for profits.
- Prepare monthly Analysis of monthly Cost Allocation Reporting.
- Other projects and duties as deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Chief Financial Officer.
Accounting Manager Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field required.
- Four or more years of general accounting experience, preferably in grant and/or non-profit organization.
- Two or more years of leadership experience preferred.
- Ability to work both independently and to work collaboratively in teams.
- Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Intermediate to advance Excel skill required, along with proficient use of other Microsoft application such as Word, Outlook, Teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize workload.
- Able to travel and work irregular hours occasionally; ability to work additional hours as necessary.
