Job Title: FHB COS DevOps Analyst
Department/ Group: Business Division B / FHB COS
Reports to: Manager FHB COS
Classification: Part-time (hourly) non-exempt
Role and Responsibilities
The DevOps Analyst completes assigned tasks in the First Horizon Bank COS environment to meet the overall project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Improve system and application visibility with advanced monitoring, metrics, and log analytics.
- Code configurations and deploy SWE (software engineering) team applications to monitoring software.
- Communicate development goals and workflow progress with customer, client, and internal teams.
- Write and run scripts (using Bash, Python, etc.) to automate processes.
- Design and optimize enterprise tools to reduce resource usage.
- Develop visualization tools to provide insight on enterprise resource usage.
- Create documentation for Splunk knowledge base and internal processes.
Key Accountabilities
- Keep colleagues and clients in the loop with ongoing issues, potential risks and upcoming changes
- Troubleshoot technical issues alongside customer and client teams
- Improve system visibility and applications with advanced monitoring, metrics, and log analytics
- Workflow queue monitoring and resolution
- Continuously improve processes and tools to ensure high availability and performance
- Document results and implement solutions
- Monitor and optimize enterprise resources
- Attend team meetings
- Follow UMRFV guidelines and policies
Skills and Knowledge
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent technical skills and knowledge of computer systems
- Experience with Linux Command Line/Bash and GitHub/GitLab
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Currently enrolled college student
- Graduate student in STEM discipline preferred
- Must have worked at least 6 months with current UMRFV venture (if internal)
