About the Role:
UnaSource Surgery Center is seeking a highly skilled contingent Radiology Technician to join our Center. The Radiology Technician serves as a member of the healthcare team and provides technical support to the Surgeon and Registered Nurse in the operating room. Follows radiologic regulations and best practices to ensure patient and team member safety. Requires a high degree of responsibility, confidentiality, and discretion. Remains calm and effective in stressful situations and provides support in emergency situations. Able to prioritize, organize, multi-task, and take direction. Demonstrates attention to accuracy and detail. Supports the organization mission and vision. Promotes teamwork and functions as a team member providing care that encompasses compassion, collaboration, and trust.
Job Domains
- In collaboration with medical staff and team prepares patients for radiologic procedures.
- Operate radiologic equipment following established radiologic requirements and regulations and manufacturers guidelines to ensure patient safety.
- Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and the team members.
- Report Incidents and Adverse Incidents per Center policy.
- Functions as Center Radiation Safety Officer.
- Provide annual and ongoing staff education regarding Radiation Safety.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of national and state radiologic standards, requirements, and regulations.
- Knowledge of radiologic equipment uses and standards.
- Knowledge of surgeon preferences, procedures, and equipment.
- Accuracy- Ability to perform work efficiently and effective.
- Verbal skills to effectively listen and communicate.
- Maintain patient, team member confidentiality. Comply with all HIPPA regulations.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and working in an operating room/restricted area.
Physical Characteristics
- Mobility to stand, walk, run, and respond quickly and carefully within the confines of the operating room and also in emergency situations.
- Mobility to bend, stoop, pull, and lift.
- Good eye/hand coordination.
Education/Experience/License & Certification
- Must be a graduate of a Radiology program.
- Required Certification/Licensures: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certificate
- 1-3 Years of experience as a Radiology Technician
