Primary Purpose of Position
The Assistant Building Operations Manager serves in a support capacity to the Library Facilities Manager as regards the coordination of internal maintenance requests, events support, and maintenance of building operations service points for all faculty, staff, and patrons of the library facility, Services as the primary backup to the Library Facilities Manager during periods of absence.
Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience in trade(s) areas assigned; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of high school and two years of experience in the performance of the full range of journeyman level tasks associated with the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Job Duties
- Responsible for the supervision of (one SHRA employee and 3 Non Student Temporary employees).
- Maintenance support for the Atkins Building, Height Library located in the Storrs Building, and the offsite facility located in Concord, NC1040 #B Derita Road 28027.
- Oversee all mailroom and shipping and receiving operations ; Fix Assets, surplus, and assets inventory accountability.
- Event set up internal and external.
- Key custodian, Liaison for Building Environmental Support.
- Ordering supplies and equipment to support building operations.
- Adheres to UNCC and OSHA safety codes. Support library vehicle maintenance program.
Other Work Responsibilities
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
- High school diploma.
- Two years’ experience providing building maintenance.
- Two years’ experience of shipping and receiving.
- Experience with surplus and fixed asset.
- One year experience with supervising others.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate a motor and electric vehicle.
Necessary Licenses or Certifications
- Valid driver license
