Additionally, the manager responds quickly to emergencies and provides assistance to coworkers, patients, families, and visitors within the scope of their practice and license. Hiring compensation range starts from $80,000 annually.

- Compensation: Commensurate upon education & experience - range is $80,000 annually or more (depending on education & experience). Benefits begin the first of the month following 60 days of employment from the new hire orientation date. This position is a non-exempt position.

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Pastoral Care department, ensuring high-quality spiritual care is provided to patients and staff.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and development of department staff, interns, and volunteers.
- Lead community outreach initiatives, including developing and maintaining relationships with local clergy and religious organizations.
- Coordinate spiritual services for patients and families, ensuring they meet the needs of the diverse population served.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards in the provision of spiritual care.
- Contribute to strategic planning for the department, including budgeting, staffing, and the development of new services.
- Promote a culture of safety, respect, and compassion within the healthcare system.
- Participate in departmental meetings, collaborating with leadership and other healthcare professionals to improve patient care.
- Oversee departmental documentation to ensure compliance with UNCHA policies and regulatory standards.
Position Qualifications:

Masters degree required from a college/university, preferably a Masters of Divinity.

Experience in leading healthcare spiritual care is strongly preferred.

Five years or more of progressive leadership experience within a health system or hospital setting required. Demonstrated work experience required in leading spiritual care including but not limited to: fiscal management, human capital management, strategic planning and development of spiritual services.
- Board Certified Chaplain by the Association of Professional Chaplains or equivalent organization within one year of hire.
