Summary
Summary: Rex IR Neuro is hiring a Cardiovascular Specialist to join their team. The Cardiovascular Specialist consults with, monitors, and performs tests on patients undergoing Interventional Radiology and Neuro Endovascular procedures.
Responsibilities
- Stages interventional suite for upcoming procedure by preparing sterile trays and accessories, preparing imaging and interventional equipment for operation, entering patient information into all imaging systems, and obtaining pertinent diagnostic information such as prior diagnostic imaging, medical records and lab results, and using quality sterile technique to prepare both the patient and the equipment.
- Operates diagnostic imaging equipment to produce contrast enhanced radiographs for interventional radiology and neuro endovascular procedures. Practices optimum radiation protection for patient and staff in the procedure room.
- Acts as first assist to proceduralist, offering assistance in tableside management of supplies as well as back table management. Assists physicians by providing all necessary supplies and imaging and interventional equipment during procedures such as catheters, guidewires, sheaths, embolization supplies, stents, medications and miscellaneous supplies. Assists in administration and documentation of regulated pharmaceuticals (intravenous contrast, heparin analogues).
- Complies with departmental and room supply strategies by determining what items are needed as well as anticipating patient needs and providing alternative items the proceduralist may require, and re-stock area appropriately.
- Performs required procedure for the collection, cleaning, storage, packaging and distribution of any and all tools/supplies to be sterilized.
- Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions. Communicates with physician regarding patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and other significant incidents.
- Assists with circulating and opening sterile packages as needed.
- Documents all supplies used during each procedure, as well as patient charge information for billing purposes, and ensuring correct order is placed
- Aides Clinical Supervisor in the onboarding of new employees and precepting radiography students
- Complies with departmental, hospital, and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Accepts responsibility for personal growth and development and professional accountability.

Education Requirements
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or graduation from a cardiovascular related program required.
- RCIS, RRT, or RDCS required. ACLS. ARRT , RESP CARE preferred.
- At least one year experience in invasive procedures or 2 years relevant healthcare experience. *Note: Current teammates hired before Dec 9, 2022 are not required to hold RCIS, RRT, or RDCS certification
- Teammates who received their RCIS certification prior to January 1, 2017 may quality with five (5) years of experience in lieu of their Associate's degree.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
