Job Description: The Industrial Sales & Business Development role involves driving revenue growth, profitability, and performance through strategic sales initiatives. The position is responsible for developing business plans, generating leads, expanding market share, and enhancing brand awareness. The role also involves managing sales activities, tracking performance, and leading the sales team.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership:

  • Embody and promote the company’s core values, including integrity, determination, customer-centricity, reliability, and innovation.
  • Collaborate with marketing to enhance brand awareness, generate leads, and boost client loyalty.
  • Develop and communicate the company’s Unique Selling Proposition (USP) and Proven Process to drive sales success.
  • Set and achieve revenue growth goals through performance and activity management.
  • Motivate, mentor, and develop the sales team to ensure consistent performance, product knowledge, and a customer-centric approach.
  • Utilize CRM and other sales tools for effective sales tracking and management.
  • Implement and maintain sales, pricing, and customer service processes and policies.
  • Expand market share by selling the full range of company products/services while nurturing relationships with existing customers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, operations, accounting, field services) to meet customer needs.
  • Participate in internal and external client debriefs to gather feedback and improve customer experience.
  • Lead prospecting efforts for key or strategic accounts and leverage your network to connect with decision-makers.
  • Build strong client relationships through effective negotiation and a customer-centric approach.

Business Development Planning:

  • Attend industry events, conferences, and functions to stay informed on market trends, competitors, and opportunities to build brand awareness.
  • Provide insights into business trends to identify potential new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Identify opportunities for sales campaigns and new markets to drive business growth.
  • Oversee the training of new salespeople and provide ongoing coaching and development for the team.

Administration & Planning:

  • Manage sales administration functions to streamline processes and systems.
  • Establish and report on key sales performance metrics, using them to drive continuous improvement.
  • Assign sales territories, set sales goals, and design training programs for the team.
  • Implement performance improvement plans in accordance with company procedures.
  • Contribute to the annual sales plan, offering realistic forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and competitive activity.
  • Analyze sales statistics to determine potential growth areas and monitor customer preferences.

Education & Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6-10 years of industrial sales experience or relevant industrial work experience
  • Expertise in industrial sales, CRM, sales planning, negotiation, and managing processes

This role requires a blend of sales leadership, strategic planning, and relationship-building skills to ensure business growth and customer satisfaction.
