Facilities Maintenance Dispatch (Appliances)

Our growing company is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Dispatcher for our busy store equipment maintenance needs.  The Dispatcher will perform dispatching and support duties for the Facilities Management team, communicating service requests to the field, coordinating the assignment of service requests and ensuring accurate recordkeeping.  This individual must be familiar with the basic mechanics of kitchen equipment and retail equipment. (Work shift is Tuesday-Saturday).

Responsibilities

• Receive work documents, prioritizing, and coordinating service requests for maintenance and non-routine custodial support
• Dispatching service workers to complete service requests. May direct or coordinate activities of drivers and/or service workers using a two-way radio or telephone
• Determines and schedules service requests according to urgency and keeps records of requests and services rendered
• Receives check-in calls from service workers by telephone or in person
• Requisition supplies for maintenance and facilities workers as needed and required
• Additional support activities as directed by Director of New Stores.  Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner to the appropriate management staff
• Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures
• Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments
• Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated
• Other duties and functions as assigned

 Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 1 year of experience with a work order systems, dispatch and facilities maintenance
• Must  be customer service focused in this role
• Ability to work independently with little supervision
• Must work Saturdays and available for call on Sundays to answer the phone as a backup
• Willingness to learn and grow with the position
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on attention to detail and follow up
• Excellent communications and listening skills
• Must be proficient with technology with working knowledge of MS Office Suite
• Maintains high standards for work areas and appearance

Working Conditions

• Most of the time is spent moving about continuously on hard surfaces. There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
• May require lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance.
• Usually in a comfortable indoor environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard. There could be exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers.
• There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents, sharp objects/industrial equipment necessary to perform job duties and functions.
