Description

Responsibilities :

Providing support for clients, in a courteous, patient and understandable manner (working with the customer where they are)
Maintaining awareness of the client environment and ongoing efforts for each
Relaying progress with other team members so that all are on the same page
Maintains appropriate records (software licenses, services, assets, etc) as required
Processes orders from request, to placement, fulfillment, and distribution, maintaining and delivering records of transactions
Provide research, data gathering and analysis for Strategic clients
Assist in other areas as the need arises and time permits

Skills :

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Able to distill complex concepts to an approachable level for each person you interact with

Ability to work well under pressure, managing multiple simultaneous requests from clients

Record and assess priority, impact, timeliness of each request and govern efforts to work on the most important, highest impact, near term tasks first

Manage expectations for commitments (both internal and client facing)

Strong attention to detail

Must be comfortable performing multiple activities simultaneously (subject to the limits of multitasking) i.e. computer builds, backups, disk analysis and recovery, etc.

Willing to explore new technologies and techniques

Comfortable in Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android. Knowledge of Linux a plus

Strong skills working with Google Apps, Microsoft Office

Basic knowledge of networking (LAN, Wireless, Internet)

Must be motivated to take on new responsibilities

Knowledge, curiosity, enthusiasm and initiative for learning about technology

Prior corporate IT experience is a plus!

Exceptional candidates will possess :

Intermediate knowledge of networking (LAN, Wireless, Internet) - Able to troubleshoot common failures and address / suggest mitigations

Wireshark fundamentals - understanding of the OSI model, able to filter and follow conversations between end points and identify problems using built in analysis tools

Terminal proficiency - comfortable running specialized commands i.e. to Spinrite Macs

Prioritize efforts, giving preference to high importance and time critical work

Delegate and defer as appropriate

Client support : flexible - targeting 6 hrs / day

Administrative support : flexible - targeting 1 hrs / day

Hours : This position will include some evening, overnight and weekend hours. This is a 12 hour shift position.

Work location : UC office is preferred. You’re welcome to work from home if tasks permit or weather, illness make travel inadvisable. As projects dictate you will need to visit client sites, in some instances on a weekly or more frequent basis. Your time in transit to and from those locations will be paid.

Equipment : We will provide you with a computer, monitor (if desired), company phone (or reimbursed mobile phone service), reimbursed home Internet service and any additional software, tools and equipment necessary to do your work.

Citizenship : Applicants must be US Persons residing in the United States.
