Job Description:
Ramp agents are responsible for loading and unloading customer aircraft, ensuring the safe handling of baggage and cargo.
- Lifting, loading/unloading, sorting, and transferring passenger baggage, airmail, freight, and company materials in and out of aircraft bins, belt loaders, or baggage carts in a safe manner.
- Operating pushback equipment and maintaining visual contact with Wing Walkers to ensure the pushback equipment is free of any danger.
- Receiving and recording customer baggage, airfreight, mail, and company materials as required.
- Picking up, delivering, and transporting cargo and baggage to and from aircraft, preparing records in connection with these responsibilities.
- Operating and/or driving motorized equipment such as belt loaders, air start units, lift trucks, push back tugs, bag cart, lavatory cart, and deicers.
Requirements:
- Must be a local (in-state) resident.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
- Must complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security.
- Able to communicate information and instructions verbally and/or via radio equipment.
