Construction Manager Representative (CMR) - King Salmon Water Filtration System Replacement
Project Overview: This project involves replacing the outdated water treatment and distribution system in King Salmon, Alaska, providing up to 10,000 gallons per day of potable water and fire suppression capabilities for multiple buildings. The system will mitigate high iron and manganese levels in the raw water, include a relocated backup generator, and extend treated water lines to a fire hydrant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and oversee the construction project, ensuring conformance to contract, plans, and specifications.
- Use PC and various software (CM software management, MS Team, Word, Excel, Adobe PDF, MS Project) for project management tasks.
- Observe contract performance by walking or climbing to assess progress.
- Communicate regularly with A/E Firms and the Contracting Officer’s Representative to ensure quality control.
- Review cost estimates, proposals, and change orders, and evaluate payment requests.
- Document scope changes, technical negotiations, and progress through reports and schedules.
- Ensure compliance with cold climate construction practices, water treatment systems, and service connections.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with cold climate construction, water treatment systems, and vertical building construction.
- Knowledge of pumps, piping, and water service connections.
- Ability to interpret construction contracts, plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience with NPS Workflows and construction activities.
- Ability to evaluate and document proposals, cost estimates, and project progress.
Additional Requirements:
- Resume including education, qualifications, and previous experience in construction management, quality control, scheduling, change orders, and communication.
- Provide three (3) CMR references for comparable projects completed within the last 5 years.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of water treatment processes and cold climate durability.
- Experience in managing similar construction projects with a focus on water systems and fire suppression.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk or climb daily to observe and assess project performance.
