West Elementary School
USD 320, Wamego, has a vacancy for an Instructional Aide in grades 3-5 at West Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year. This is not a certified teaching position, however, Instructional Aides do serve as instructors to small groups of students outside of the regular classroom and/or as instructors to small groups of students within the regular classroom. Instructional Aides will also assist classroom teachers with a variety of duties. Instructional Aides may be asked to cover classrooms as substitute teachers when needed. Minimum qualifications include at least 60 college credit hours. Candidates with instructional experience and a valid teaching license are preferred.
Compensation is as follows:
$16.35 an hour for candidates with a Bachelor's degree; $17.86 an hour for candidates with a valid Kansas Teaching License.
Candidates will work the same days as classroom teachers, including professional development days and work days. Hours are approximately 7:40am until 3:40pm. Knowledge of educational best practices for elementary students is preferred. In addition to providing instructional support to small groups of students, Instructional Aides will also perform other duties as assigned by the building principal. This position will be offered a complete benefit package, including health and supplemental insurance, and KPERS retirement.
