Summary: Reporting to the Human Resources Manager (US), the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing a broad scope of HR related duties in the following functional areas: recruitment, HRIS, retaining & engaging employees, benefits, payroll administration, training support, performance management, policy implementation, employment law compliance, employee relations, and general HR activities. Support Uniform Color philosophy focused on facilitating the growth of the organization, continually improving quality, and driving to a world class safety environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partners with HR Manager to design, develop, and implement HR plans/procedures.
- Tracks attendance of all hourly employees. Works with Supervisors to verify attendance, occurrences, and administers documentation.
- Assists with the facilitation of coaching to supervisors and managers.
- Coordinates FMLA and leave of absences, as well as partners with Safety on workers compensation.
- Partners with Training Coordinator on onboarding and training programs.
- Handles employee relations and investigations.
- Assists in new employee benefits enrollment, wellness, and annual open enrollment.
- Assists in facilitation of the performance appraisal and merit increase processes.
- Leads HR items related to certification and audits.
- Facilitates color testing within guidelines.
- Conducts exit interviews.
- Trains Supervisors on the payroll process and ensures that payroll information is submitted in a timely manner.
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Develops and implements staffing strategies and leads the hiring process for hourly positions.
- Posts open hourly positions, reviews resumes, schedules interviews, conducts background checks, & pre-employment drug testing.
- Interprets human resources policies and procedures for employees and supervisors.
- Manages I-9s and E verify.
- Supports new hire orientation.
- Updates HR systems with employee data and coordinates employment paperwork administration.
- Other duties as assigned.
Recommended Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in related field required
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Human Resources, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to handle confidential materials and information.
- Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, to organize, take initiative, and exercise sound judgment.
- Knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources.
- PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
