Summary
Reporting to the Human Resources Director (US) with a dotted line reporting to the Uniform Color (UC) President, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for strategic and hands-on HR related duties for Uniform Color (US location), covering 200 employees : interviewing, onboarding, retention, engagement, performance management, policy implementation, employment law compliance, and employee relations. This person sits on the leadership team working closely on business initiatives with team members and the company's President. Direct report includes a HR Generalist.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Partners with UC leadership team on business growth, production, and objectives / goals.
- Contributes to long and short-term business strategies as a member of the senior leadership team.
- Manages headcount statistics to budget.
- Participates in business planning and leadership meetings, including developing presentations on human resources initiatives, employee data, and tracking objectives.
- Interviews candidates for all levels of the company.
- Ensures a focus on employee satisfaction and retention and builds a plan to focus on key areas of improvement.
- Manages succession planning program.
- Directs change management initiatives by successfully counseling managers on organizational development improvements.
- Supervises the HR Generalist and mentors all facets of their growth, development and performance, including setting objectives and goals.
- Builds and maintains positive relationships with employees to solve issues
- Manages HR policies and procedures.
- Collaborates with Safety to facilitate and implement policies, procedures, and processes.
- Collaborates with Director of Benefits and Compensation regarding employee issues regarding payroll, benefits, or compensation.
- Maintains a presence on the production floor to monitor employee engagement, satisfaction, and concerns.
- Reviews retention with team and develops plans to increase retention and address problem areas.
- Handles escalated issues regarding employee relations and investigations.
- Provides data and metrics related to turnover, engagement, and progress towards objectives.
- Contributes as a member of the Wellness and Safety committees.
- Manages stay and exit interviews.
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
