As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Warehouse Manager to enhance our operations in Sloan, NV. Our team members are versatile "industrial business athletes," and in this role, you'll lead and actively engage in optimizing our U.S. plant and local supply chain.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee Warehouse Operations: Manage receiving, inventory control, inventory transactions, warehousing / locations, shipping, and maintenance operations to ensure efficient processes.
- Space Utilization: Set up warehouse layout and ensure efficient space utilization.
- Policy Implementation: Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.
- Compliance: Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements.
- Health and Safety: Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security.
- Inventory Management: Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage systems.
- Budget Management: Prepare annual budgets, schedule expenditures, and analyze variances.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with clients, suppliers, and transport companies to ensure smooth operations.
- Team Leadership: Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately, and appraise results.
- Employee Development: Recruit, select, orient, coach, and motivate employees to achieve peak performance.
- Performance Monitoring: Produce reports and statistics regularly (e.g., IN/OUT status report, dead stock report) and monitor the quality of services provided.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience in leu of education) in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 6 years of proven work experience as a Warehouse Manager, with expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices.
- Process Improvement: Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with warehouse management software and databases.
- Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage staff effectively.
- Decision-Making: Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Industry Experience: Experience in the steel tube mill industry is an asset.
- ERP Systems: Previous work with ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
- Lean Manufacturing: Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience preferred.
- Certifications: Six Sigma certification is advantageous.
- Quality Systems: Familiarity with a quality control system like ISO9001 is desired.
- Safety Knowledge: Knowledge of safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (excel : intermediate/advanced level) and Quality Management software.
- Language Skills: Clear communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish is a bonus.
- Problem-Solving: Prompt problem-solving and a proactive approach to minimize disruptions.
