Shop Supervisor

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shop Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our workshop. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with various tools and equipment. As a Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a team, ensuring quality control, and maintaining safety standards while fostering a productive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of shop personnel to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and tools to ensure proper maintenance and functionality.
• Provide training and guidance to team members on the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters.
• Oversee maintenance tasks, ensuring that all tractor/trailers are serviced according to established schedules.
• Maintain inventory of shop supplies and tools, placing orders as necessary to ensure availability.
• Enforce safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
• Collaborate with management to develop operational strategies that enhance productivity and efficiency within the shop.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within a mechanical or maintenance environment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools.
• Familiarity with tractor/trailer maintenance practices is preferred.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics effectively.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage team members.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
