NOW HIRING A TELLER/CUSTOMER SERVICE REP:

Under the supervision and guidance of the assigned manager, this Teller/Customer Service Representative accepts and processes transactions from the bank's customers by personal contact, mail, and night deposit. The incumbent identifies customer needs and refers them to product experts. The Teller gains knowledge of other areas in the bank and by cross-training to provide an expected level of exceptional customer service.

WHAT WILL I DO?

  • Deliver consistent exceptional customer service by displaying sincere, outgoing friendliness. Smiling, acknowledging every customer, introducing yourself, making eye contact, and thanking the customer are all examples.
  • Contribute to the achievement of customer experience by engaging customers in conversations to determine their product needs and referring customers to the appropriate product specialists.
  • Meet with customers to discuss personal and business banking financial needs, accurately open new accounts, including Checking, Savings, Time Deposit, IRAs, Safe deposit boxes, and enroll customers in e-services, including internet banking, bill pay and e-statement.
  • Collect customer information to process new and existing accounts.
  • Promote and explain other bank products such as IRAs, certificate of deposits, debit cards and credit cards.
  • Accurately accept and process customer teller transactions. Adhere to bank policies and procedures, including the Customer Identification Program.
  • Cash checks and withdrawals up to authorized limits; request authorization for transactions above assigned limits. Process branch and/or teller capture; pays out money after verification of customer's signatures and balances.
  • Responsible for prompt and efficient customer transactions.
  • Responsible for receiving checks and cash for deposits to accounts, verifying amounts, examining checks for proper endorsement and entering deposits into a computer system.
  • Responsible for checking night depository bags and recording proper information as defined in the Procedure Manual.
  • Assist customers with routine inquiries regarding account balances and account information.
  • Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift and compare totaled amounts to computer-generated sheet and report any discrepancies to the Head Teller, as necessary.
  • Using customer-focused skills, explain policies and procedures to customers as applicable.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of products and services, including digital services and delivery options. Support customer usage of products and services that will provide the services they need in the manner most convenient for them.
  • Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.
  • Report malfunctions of a teller terminal and other equipment used at the teller station.
  • Ensure that the teller stations are properly stocked with forms, supplies, etc.
  • Maintain a high level of cooperation and rapport with all teammates in order to ensure accurate and efficient operations and service.
  • Formulate and communicate new ideas and suggestions that will improve profitability and efficiency for the bank's overall operation.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Sales experience, customer service, bank, or other financial service provider experience is preferred.
  • 3-5 years previous banking/teller experience and cash handling experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency is preferred.
