Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
The rate for this position is $18.90 an hour. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Fire Extinguisher Inspections: Inspect fire extinguishers following the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 10 standards. Conduct minor repairs for extinguisher brackets and cases. Inform Fire Safety Compliance Officer about major repairs that are needed.
- AED Inspections: Inspect Automatic Defibrillator Devices (AEDs) following the American Heart Association recommendations. Maintain batteries and supplies.
- Carbon Monoxide Detector Inspections: Test plug-in carbon monoxide detectors that are not connected to the Campus Safety notification system.
- Reporting: Maintains inspection spreadsheet on Google Sheets file. Report fire code violations observed in the inspection areas to the Fire Safety Compliance Officer. Participate in weekly Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) departmental meetings.
- High School Diploma and a combination of relevant training, certifications and\or work experience.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License.
- Must be safety-conscious and be able to professionally communicate with a diverse group of campus community members.
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs frequently.
- Ability to do extensive walking on campus.
- Knowledge of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), state and local fire and building codes.
- Fire safety training and experience.
