What You Do

1. Develop and implement comprehensive safety and compliance programs to protect employees, visitors, and assets from potential risks and threats.
2. Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
3. Establish and maintain relationships with local Safety organizations to include OSHA, FWPD, and City Code officials.
4. Create and deliver training programs to educate employees on safety protocols, emergency response procedures, and general awareness.
5. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety and security measures through audits, inspections, and incident investigations, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
6. Stay updated on the latest safety and security regulations, industry trends, and technological advancements, and recommend improvements to existing policies and procedures.
7. Develop and manage the safety and security budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional team to include entire UGM-TC organization, to ensure alignment and integration of safety initiatives.
9. Provide guidance to Security leadership on the selection, implementation, and maintenance of security and safety systems, including programs, laws, bodies of governance.
10. Establish a cutting edge Safety program that can be utilized locally and nationally.

4. Experience in developing and implementing safety and security programs, policies, and procedures.
5. Proficient in conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations to identify areas for improvement.
6. Ability to stay calm and make effective decisions in high-pressure situations or emergencies.
7. Familiarity with technology and tools to protect assets and monitor threats.
8. Strong organizational and project management skills to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
9. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, such as OSHA, EPA, and HIPAA.
10. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Required Qualifications

1. Associates degree in a related field such as criminal justice or occupational health and safety.
2. Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a large organization or high-security environment.
3. Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP),  or ability to acquire in 6 months is highly desirable.
4. Knowledge of OSHA and compliance standards and guidelines.
5. Familiarity with relevant software and tools.
6. Strong understanding of Safety concepts, including perimeter protection, surveillance systems, and classroom instruction.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and obtain any necessary security clearances.
9. Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team.
10. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and respond to emergencies on a 24/7 basis, if required.
