Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care within a dynamic environment and acute and chronic care in a family medicine clinic. This position requires strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively in both emergency medicine and medical-surgical environments. We are looking for someone with strong English and Spanish communicating skills. Someone who can multitask and able to handle high volume of patients. Strong organization skills and punctuality are required. Prefer someone with a minimum one year of experience in Family Medicine.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Measure and record vital signs accurately.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians or nurse practitioners.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulations.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
- Provide patient education on health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Some administrative duties which include to assist in answering phone, scheduling patient, verifying insurance, calling patient to remind them of their appointment, check-in and checking, taking payments, cleaning immediate are and making sure that the restrooms are clean. This is only when front desk is in need of assistance.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver high-quality patient care.
Requirements
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in taking vital signs and performing basic clinical tasks.
- Experience in urgent care, hospital, or clinic environments is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interaction with patients and staff.
- Ability to work in fast-paced settings, including emergency medicine situations.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Compassionate demeanor with a focus on providing excellent patient care.
- Able to communicate in both English and Spanish
- Excellent spelling skills
