Welding Inspector Union Metal Industries 1432 Maple Avenue NE, Canton, OH 44705 $20.37 - $21.32 an hour - Full-time We are seeking a entry level Quality Inspector with quality inspection and testing experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive welding experience with AWS D1.1 standards and a strong commitment to quality and safety in manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities: · Conduct thorough inspections and tests on materials and products using measuring devices, visual inspection and testing equipment. · Perform visual welding inspections in compliance with AWS D1.1 standards.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of inspection results and quality reports. · Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications. · Identify and report any defects or non-conformities and assist in implementing corrective actions. · Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
- Provide training and guidance to junior inspectors and production staff on quality and inspection procedures. · Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained in proper working conditions. Qualifications: · Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification. (Preferred).
- Level I or Level II certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Penetrant Testing (PT), and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT). (Preferred). · In-depth knowledge of AWS D1.1 standards and specifications. · Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Ability to work independently and as part of a team. · Proficiency in using various inspection tools and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions based on inspection findings. Preferred Qualifications: · Experience in the steel pole manufacturing industry.
