About the Role
The Union Pacific Railroad Company is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Operator and Rail Inspector to join its team of track laborers. This role involves conducting essential maintenance, repairs, and installations to ensure the safe and efficient movement of trains across North America.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of railroad tracks, track beds, and track right-of-way to identify any problems or defects.
- Perform necessary repairs and replacements of rails, rail anchors, spikes, ballast, ties, and other components as required.
- Execute various track maintenance tasks, repairs, and installations, which may involve operating heavy equipment.
Requirements
- Able to read and understand instructions, including operating and safety rules, bulletins, special instructions, and federal regulatory documents.
- Possess Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class A or Class B.
- Experience working outdoors in variable weather conditions.
- Ability to work in proximity to large equipment, such as railcars, locomotives, and cranes.
