POSITION SUMMARY:
This role is primarily responsible for providing clerical assistance to all areas of deposit operations. The Deposit Operations Specialist will work closely with the departments included within deposit operations, including ACH, Cash Operations, and Courtesy Pay.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties are typical for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Provide assistance and support to ACH/Share Draft services. These duties include but are not limited to: managing alerts/errors in addition to other daily tasks and required forms
- Provide assistance and support to the Courtesy Pay program as needed. Assist with any daily and monthly reporting requirements, as well as member calls and emails. Maintain and audit exceptions reports daily and ensure that all appropriate notices are generated promptly
- Reconcile general ledgers as needed and maintain source documents to verify general ledger entries
- Communicate with members regarding transactions relating to the account (overdrafts, account closings, charges and fees, transfer of funds, etc.). Assist in solving member issues and questions. Research transactions on accounts for members who have discrepancies
- Responsible for knowing and adhering to USCU policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook and training manuals
- Promote and maintain a positive and professional image of Union Square Credit Union. Interact with employees and members in a friendly and courteous manner
- Secure and safeguard at all times the confidential information of members and employees, and the Credit Union pertaining to accounts, security, and personal information
- Promote teamwork by assisting others when needed or when work is completed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, management, or Human Resources
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Previous financial institution experience is required. Previous experience with customer/member service is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent telephone manners and techniques. Ability to make independent judgment calls based on knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements. Must be flexible, quickly adapt to changing locations and hours, perform well under pressure and demanding time restrictions, and the willingness to work well with others. Experience with Microsoft Excel is a plus.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent.
