About the Role: As a Client Benefit Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting clients with their healthcare benefits, managing prior authorization applications, and assisting with claims denials. You’ll work directly with clients and healthcare professionals to ensure they receive the services they need while guiding them through complex processes. Key Responsibilities:
- Prior Authorization Management: Oversee the application and renewal process for services requiring prior authorization. This includes gathering clinical data, working with clinicians to submit timely documentation, and logging approval/denial information into our system.
- Client Assistance: Support clients with Entitlement and Board Funding applications, answer questions about coverage, and help with Medicaid redetermination for meds-only clients.
- Claims Denial Resolution: Monitor and address payer-denied claims related to prior authorization. Work to identify systemic issues and collaborate with the Information Services team for resolution.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Ensure seamless communication with clients, clinicians, and internal departments, while managing a variety of administrative tasks.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. An associate degree in a related field is a plus.
- Experience: At least one year of experience in medical billing, registration, or working with insurance/benefits.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in using computer systems, internet navigation, and billing software like Excel and Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to manage tasks independently and prioritize effectively.
- Comfortable working under pressure with frequent interruptions while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, especially when handling sensitive client information.
- Compassionate and empathetic when working with clients who may be ill, disabled, or in distress.
Additional Information:
- No prior certification is required, but CPI certification must be obtained after hire.
- Must be comfortable with sedentary work and occasional travel between agency sites.
