State of the art Community Health System serving the Tri-County Greater Houston area is seeking an Oncology consultant to join its team of medical professionals.

Under the general supervision of the Medical Director, this Specialty Consultant Provider offers specialized medical services to patients requiring sage expertise in oncology. This position is committed to ensuring quality patient care.

This hybrid remote opportunity offers flexibility of clinic days and home office workdays with availability from Monday to Friday during normal business hours.

The Oncology consultant will coordinate care through the medical team to provide :

  • Consultations and Assessments : Perform thorough consultations and assessments for patients necessitating specialized medical care in rheumatology, gastroenterology, hematology, oncology, and hepatology.
  • Managing Treatment Plans : Develop and manage treatment plans for patients within affiliated partner groups, per the assessment protocols and outcomes.
  • Providing Follow-up Care : Offer essential follow-up care and support to patients throughout their treatment journey.
  • Timely Provision of Services : Ensure prompt and professional delivery of specialized medical services and protocol to patients.
  • Collaboration : Collaborate effectively with system healthcare professionals to ensure smooth coordination of patient care.
  • Requirements :

  • M.D. or D.O. with a current, active, Texas medical license and board certified or board eligible in Medical Oncology, recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties, or American Osteopathic Association
  • 2-5 years of relevant clinical experience post residency / fellowship
  • Knowledge of applicable state federal laws
  • Utilization Review Accreditation Commission and National Committee for Quality Assurance standards is a plus
  • Computer skills : ability to work autonomously with automated processes, computer applications, and systems
  • Meet physical demands of the role including, but not limited to, typing, speaking, and listening 100% of the time
