Job Description
As a Mortgage Loan Officer, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Build, develop, and maintain relationships with clients, real estate agents, and other referral sources.
- Meet/talk with prospective clients to understand their needs and goals as related to homeownership or refinancing their property.
- Assist clients in completing mortgage application (as necessary). We have a safe and secure online application portal for clients to provide their information and upload any supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Be accessible to clients in the manner that THEY prefer (i.e. in person, by phone, via text message, etc.). Timely and effective communication is key in building trust with clients and ancillary parties involved in the transaction.
- Be informed about industry trends, products, and market conditions so that you are seen as the expert you represent yourself to be.
- interview applicants to gather information regarding their financial status and needs.
- Analyze applicants' creditworthiness utilizing LOS and program guidelines.
- Explain loan options, terms, and conditions to clients clearly and effectively.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years in the mortgage industry as either a loan processor or loan originator is preferred, but will consider applications with non-industry experience if applicant has prior sales experience.
- Familiarity of loan underwriting guidelines, processes, procedures, and statutory regulations such as TILA and RESPA.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to convey complex information clearly.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent collaboration skills, working effectively with a team environment to achieve common goals. We are here to help you succeed.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a passion for helping clients achieve their goals. If you need to be micro-managed, you are not who we are looking for.
- Highest of ethical standards and a commitment to transparency and always working in the clients' best interests.
