Unite Contracting is looking for skilled Structural Ship Fitters to join our team, No Per Diem Money and No Twic Card needed this is permanet job. These jobs is working at a construction site Fab Shop. The ideal candidate must pass a hands on structural fitting test at the construction site and a blue print reading test at the Fab shop. Structural Ship Fitters should have experience in fitting and tack welder using various metals and materials, as well as a strong understanding of safety protocols and no Twic Card needed. The successful structural fitter candidate will be responsible for reading blueprints, interpreting sketches, and using specialized tools to complete projects in a timely manner at the construction site fab shop working with a welder. No housing will be provided at this construction site. We are looking for an ship fitter individual who is able to work independently and is highly motivated to produce quality work as a structural fitter and no Twic Card required. Fitters at construction site will be working with a welder daily.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
- No Twic Card needed
- Fabricate and assemble metal components using fitting techniques at a construction site..
- Operate equipment in the fab shop in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform quality control checks on all structural fitting
- Maintain any fitting equipment in accordance with safety regulations.
- Perform preventative maintenance on welding equipment with the welder.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
