POSITION SUMMARY
We are leading the fight against poverty and are searching for a talented Assistant Warehouse Manager to be responsible for successful warehouse operations for our Member Share Grocery Program. In this role, you will support the warehouse leadership team, oversee warehouse operations, and direct activities to ensure deliverables are on-time and within quality standards and budgetary guidelines. You will be responsible for achieving optimum labor and productivity outputs, ensuring inventory and shipping/receiving functions at warehouse meet the organizations guidelines, streamlining operations for efficiency; and ensuring our campus grocery locations are consistently supplied with quality food and general merchandise for our members.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
· Overseeing sorting, storing and transportation of all food and general merchandise within the warehouse. Assisting with training of staff on all such procedures to ensure a smooth workflow of product.
· Maintaining operational procedures for activities such as verifying incoming shipments, handling and disposition of product and warehouse inventory accuracy.
· Monitoring and ensure integrity of our products and ensures that food safety standards are met.
· Ensuring the facility and equipment are in constant compliance with all Federal and State OSHA and HACCP regulations and requirements.
· Adhering to all budgetary guidelines and constraints while ensuring the warehouse operates in a profitable and safe manner.
· Creating a cohesive organization by keeping lines of communication open and direct workforce to insure efficient workflow.
· Assist with interviewing, hiring, training, managing and exiting warehouse personnel.
· Train staff and supervise all heavy equipment and machinery use including pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.
· Participating and/or leading all other department initiatives as needed.
ESSENTIALS THAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL
· Previous warehouse, grocery or logistics experience is required.
· Strong communication skills and leadership skills.
· Ability to multi-task effectively within a rapidly changing environment.

· Effective decision making, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
· 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role.
· Previous supervisory experience preferred.
· Ability to become forklift certified and become certified trainer of forklifts within 60 days.
PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time and move frequently throughout the day. Ability to bend, push, pull and lift items of 25lbs.
