And our Corporate Real Estate team is on the front lines of procuring, designing and developing spaces at all our hubs, stations and city locations across the world. From airport affairs and business services to planning and development, this team is responsible for all our leases and major construction and renovation projects, system wide.
Key Responsibilities :
This position is responsible for implementing and owning key objectives and strategies as part of United’s corporate real estate portfolio and growth plan. This role will manage relationships with key external partners including but not limited to airport authorities, airlines, government entities and industry organizations. This includes leading lease and other negotiations on behalf of United to achieve business outcomes at strategic domestic and international airports. Portfolios typically consist of a variety of station sizes with an annual budget responsibility ranging from $1M to $10MM (small stations) and $20MM to $30MM (larger stations). This position is also responsible for engaging with industry peers, industry associations, internal / external legal and regulatory experts to protect United’s interests and complete the company’s strategic objectives
- Responsible for cost and risk management, asset utilization and supporting operational efficiency to enhance value and best enable United’s business strategy
- Lease negotiation and Relationship Management :
- Lead activities with the respective governing bodies at key airport locations and commercial properties in the system, enabling cost control, operational efficiency and asset utilization
- Responsible for leading management of leases and other business issues related to United's rights for properties and facilities at assigned locations
- Collaborates to enable execution of CRE projects, inclusive of schedule and budget management
- Responsible for managing and influencing professional services and consultants to accomplish duties associated with scope of properties
- Demonstrate leadership in engagement with key collaborators, particularly when required to mediate between conflicting priorities and / or advocate on United’s behalf
- Responsible for leading responsibilities with limited oversight, demonstrating professional behavior and self-starter demeanor, and exercising judgement to drive United’s strategic objectives
