SUMMARY:
The Sourcing Manager plays a key leadership role within the Supply Chain team, responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives that drive cost efficiencies, supplier performance, and risk mitigation. This role oversees domestic sourcing efforts across both direct and indirect spend categories, ensuring alignment with operational and financial goals. The Sourcing Manager leads supplier negotiations, builds strong supplier relationships, and manages procurement strategies while supervising sourcing personnel to optimize supplier performance and procurement effectiveness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the sourcing team in developing and executing procurement strategies that drive cost efficiencies, enhance supplier quality, and mitigate risks while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the sourcing team.
- Set clear performance goals, monitor key sourcing metrics, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Support career development and training opportunities for the sourcing team.
- Lead cross-functional sourcing initiatives with Engineering, Operations, and Finance to align procurement strategies with business and product development objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships to ensure cost-effective and high-quality supply chain operations.
- Conduct in-depth market research and industry analysis to identify new sourcing opportunities and supply chain trends.
- Lead key supplier negotiations, contract management, and strategic purchasing decisions to optimize terms and drive cost savings
- Oversee supplier performance metrics and implement best practices to drive continuous improvement in sourcing efficiency and supplier engagement.
- Oversee supplier selection and onboarding processes to ensure new suppliers meet cost, quality, and compliance standards while supporting long-term risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing practices.
- Identify and implement best practices to improve sourcing efficiency, supplier engagement, and procurement processes.
- Leverage ERP systems and data analytics to enhance procurement efficiency, optimize sourcing strategies, and drive informed decision-making
- Actively participate in supplier negotiations, contract management, and strategic purchasing decisions.
- Analyze cost structures and develop strategies to optimize procurement spend.
- Serve as the escalation point for supplier-related challenges and critical sourcing issues.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of supply, including supplier diversification, contingency planning, and proactive risk assessments.
- Work closely with Engineering, Operations, and Finance to align sourcing decisions with product development needs, cost objectives, and operational goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 7 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
- 3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role within supply chain or procurement.
- Proven track record in supplier negotiations, cost reduction initiatives, and risk management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel 15-25% as needed.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
