SUMMARY:
The Senior HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting HR functions at the site. This position requires an experienced and perceptive HR professional who can build strong relationships across all levels of the organization while balancing business needs and employee engagement. The Senior HR Generalist will collaborate closely with the HR team and site leaders to champion the organization’s strategic vision, values, and culture.
As a partner to the organization, the Senior HR Generalist will provide expert guidance on employee relations, manage leave of absence processes, support performance management, and facilitate conflict resolution. This role is integral to fostering a positive workplace culture, ensuring compliance with policies and employment laws, and driving organizational effectiveness
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provide expert guidance on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management, while supporting managers with training on effective communication and resolution techniques.
- Conduct investigations related to employee complaints, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations, as directed.
- Administer the LOA process (FMLA, ADA, etc.), serve as the primary point of contact for leave inquiries, and collaborate with managers to ensure smooth transitions for returning employees, ensuring compliance with legal and company policies.
- Partnering with HR Team to develop and implement initiatives that enhance employee engagement, retention, and productivity.
- Analyze HR metrics and employee feedback to identify trends, compile necessary data, and create reports, offering recommendations for interventions to enhance the employee experience.
- Develop, implement, and communicate HR policies that promote a fair and inclusive workplace, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Recommends innovative approaches, policies, and procedures to enhance departmental efficiency and improve service delivery.
- Coach leaders on performance management best practices and effective leave management practices.
- Superior understanding of employment law and responsible for keeping the HR team informed of updates and changes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational initiatives and foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
- Act as a liaison between employees and management, ensuring effective communication and fostering a positive work environment.
- Support organizational change initiatives by providing guidance on employee impact, communication strategies, and partnering on training needs.
- Assist in the implementation of HR projects and programs that support the organization's growth and strategic objectives.
- Maintain and update HR documents, including forms, handbooks, and performance management documents, and ensure accurate records in HR software and ERP systems.
- Act as a mentor to the HR team and share best practices.
- Perform other duties as required by the HR Manager and leadership teams as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field, or equivalent of education and experience required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HR, with a focus on employee relations, performance management, and leave of absence management.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, particularly related to leave management (FMLA, ADA, etc.).
- Proven experience in conflict resolution, performance management, investigation, and disciplinary processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive decisions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise the highest level of discretion when handling sensitive data.
- Demonstrated abilities in managing workload efficiently, prioritizing tasks effectively, and meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Must be able to navigate in a windows-based computer environment, along with experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
