United Aluminum Corporation, a specialty rolling mill in North Haven, CT, with unique rolling, annealing, and slitting capabilities, has produced Custom Rolled® Aluminum Coil since 1915. United Aluminum’s modern and clean facility is conveniently located off I-91 in North Haven, CT.
We have an immediate opportunity for a Maintenance Coordinator on 1st shift to join our valued Maintenance team. This position will be tasked with making sure inventory is stocked, preventive maintenance is scheduled, soliciting quotes, and generating work orders so that our skilled journeyman may perform the maintenance and repair of heavy manufacturing equipment in our aluminum processing plant. This person will also be the administrator of the computerized maintenance inventory and ticketing system. Strong preference will be considered to candidates with prior experience implementing a barcode inventory management system.
This position requires a well-organized self-starter with high mechanical aptitude who is a dependable team player with clerical skills and excellent communication skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, this person will perform various clerical and administrative duties to support the total preventive maintenance program. Responsibilities include receiving, stocking, selecting, dispersing a variety of supplies, tools and maintain associated records, inventory and ordering parts as well as coordinating the work order and preventative maintenance systems while maintaining the department's equipment catalog and drawing files. As necessary this person will solicit quotes for maintenance projects.
Perform other similar and related duties as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
A. INVENTORY:
- Generate requisitions for purchase of parts and supplies both for inventory and special projects.
- Maintain maintenance inventory records.
- Receive all items except reroll, log receipts against purchase orders. Identify parts by proper name, tag and store in proper locations.
- Disperse requisitioned items.
- Monitor usage of items in storage that do not have a physical count.
- As necessary expedite (internal) materials required.
- Maintain daily receipt log.
- Keep storeroom, files, and records neat and orderly at all times.
B. PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE:
- Generate P.M. work orders daily.
- Assist with work assignments.
- Record completed work orders daily.
- Issue work orders for trouble calls enter such.
- Return copy of completed work order to initiator.
- Enter new equipment into system.
- Participate on TPM
C. MISCELLANEOUS:
- Prepare reports on inventory (receivals/dispersals and open work order status as necessary.
- Maintain department's equipment library and drawing files.
- Solicit quotes for special projects.
- As requested, track labor and material cost on projects.
- Maintain department's attendance log.
- Schedule environmental waste pickups and maintain manifests
- Maintain maintenance work order system: software updates, add/modify/delete contacts, work with helpdesk to resolve issues.

Required Qualifications
- 3 years of demonstrated relevant industrial plant or outside contractor experience supporting a wide variety of maintenance and operational tasks servicing comparable heavy industrial equipment.
- 1 years of maintenance inventory management experience.
- Proficient with Outlook and Excel,
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
