What are the responsibilities and job description for the Practice Manager position at United Anesthesia Services?
- Operational Oversight: Collaborate with the CEO and lead physicians to manage and supervise the daily operations of the anesthesia practice, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and high-quality care.
- Work Environment: Set the tone and atmosphere to create a positive, collaborative, and productive work environment.
- On-Site Presence: Maintain regular physical presence at the respective Division and ASCs to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and address any on-site issues promptly.
- Financial Management: Oversee and manage monthly expenditures, staffing levels, and overtime hours. Ensure proper tracking of financial metrics related to the practice’s operations.
- Budget Development: Partner with the CFO to develop and maintain practice budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial targets.
- Room Utilization: Monitor and track daily room utilization at each location, ensuring operational efficiency and maximizing revenue generation.
- Contractual and Financial Understanding: Stay informed about contractual arrangements and financial models, working proactively to optimize practice profitability and performance.
- Business Reviews: Assist in the development and preparation of quarterly anesthesia business reviews for the ASCs, providing valuable insights on practice performance and opportunities for improvement.
- Policies & Procedures: Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of practice policies and procedures to ensure adherence to operational standards and industry best practices.
- PTO Management: Track and manage PTO for physicians and CRNAs, ensuring proper staffing coverage and minimal disruptions to operations.
- Meetings & Committees: Attend regular meetings, actively participate in committees, and contribute to practice decision-making.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success and growth of the practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.
- 3-5 years experience in practice or operations management in a healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, financial management, and cost control.
- Familiarity with anesthesia practice operations, ASC environments, and healthcare contracts is desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, staff, and leadership to achieve operational and financial goals.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
