What will you be doing?

The Admissions Specialist reports directly to the Manager of Admissions. The Admissions Specialist develops, maintains, and manages the database of prospective students and assists in the planning, coordinating, and monitoring the recruiting and outreach activities of United Aviate Academy. The Admissions Specialist is also responsible for all aspects of the admissions process with students entering the Academy with a Private Pilot License, current United employees, and relatives of United employees.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the student experience in the admissions process
  • Schedule and coordinate completion of tasks required by incoming students and internal candidates through alternative recruitment channels
  • Track student progress of documentation required to attend the Academy
  • Participates in the development of outcomes, monitors assessment of those appropriate outcomes, and assists in the development of plans of action for improvement based on the assessment of those outcomes
  • Keep a master calendar of schedules for classes to ensure all have a designed number of students attending
  • Participates in preparing for and facilitating admissions workshops and presentations
  • Organize and update files as needed
  • Answer calls and emails and perform essential administrative work
  • Prepare and deliver feedback from students, customers, and employees to management and executive teams with recommendations for change where necessary
  • Working with team leaders, managers, and department heads to learn departmental needs and goals
  • Ensuring that all activities conform to local, federal, industry, and company standards
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve any problems in the admissions process
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Minimum Requirements

    Experience :

  • 2-4 years' experience as an admissions specialist or similar role
  • Experience in office management or an administrative role
  • Excellent communication and people management skills
  • Experience in the customer service field is a preferred
  • Education :

  • High school diploma / GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Essential Knowledge, Skills, Behaviors :

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and work independently
  • Excellent phone etiquette
  • Ability to coordinate multiple schedules
  • Self-starter and highly organized with an aptitude for problem-solving
  • Neat, professional appearance
  • Strong knowledge of social media and demonstrated usage of tools such as LinkedIn
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail while appropriately balancing accuracy and speed
  • Positive attitude, with a willingness to learn new responsibilities, adapt to change, collaborate as a team player, and has a passion for continuous improvement
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present effectively to small and large groups
  • Commitment to the company culture as a subsidiary of United Airlines and valuing the Core4
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
