What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loan Support Representative position at United Bank of Iowa?
As a member of the UBI team, this position provides clerical support of loan credits to loan officers and managers. Assisting with all aspects of loan compiling, data entry, and loan verification, specifically with Ag and Commercial loans, to ensure orderly processing and maintenance of all loan documents according to established procedure. Receiving and processing loan advances, payments, and pay-offs. Providing customers with the appropriate loan documentation. Answers customer questions, phone calls, and performs essential teller duties as needed, while maintain exceptional customer service. Selling and promoting all bank services in such a way as to enhance the bank's image within the community.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3 - 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Strong reading, writing, and verbal skills to effectively follow written and oral instructions, respond to questions, and compose moderately complex reports.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Count, add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, percentages, loan payments and loan pay-offs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Comprehend and understand bank operations, policies (manuals), and procedures.
Recognize and reconcile problems following established guidelines.
Independent judgement to recognize and maintain confidential information.
Interpret and apply loan policy requirements.
OTHER SKILLS:
Organizational skills to assist loan officers service loan accounts and prioritize workload to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with customers in a friendly, courteous manner.
Understanding of computer related operations.
Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet and database software to generate correspondence and reports.
Analytical skills to analyze loan documentation and apply quality control standards and loan documentation requirements.

Understanding of debits, credits, and general teller duties to serve as back-up teller.
Basic Ag business and production knowledge.
Familiarity with standard office equipment such as calculators, typewriters, copy machines and fax machines.
