Description

BASIC FUNCTION:

Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders to improve client outcomes. Participate in the development of client-centered, family-oriented treatment planning. Provide evaluation and treatment services in both independent and multi-disciplinary modalities. Train and provide consultative services for family members regarding carryover of therapeutic activities and exercise. Work in collaboration with school, community and/or other related professionals as needed to provide coordinated and comprehensive client-centered care. Will be required to provide Alternative/Augmentative Communication (AAC) evaluation and treatment for clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Evaluate, diagnose and treat speech, language and swallowing disorders in both independent and multidisciplinary modalities
  2. Create goals, objectives and therapeutic plans to suit the individual needs of a diverse population of clients
  3. Conduct evaluations and make recommendations for Alternative/Augmentative Communication (AAC) devices; provide training and ongoing support to clients, families and support personnel.
  4. Proficient in troubleshooting common software and hardware challenges in relation to the regular use of speech pathology       tools and technology
  5. Consult with physicians, schools, community and/or other services providers to ensure quality, coordinated services for the client.
  6. Maintain up-to-date documentation for all clients served according to standards established by United Cerebral Palsy, Medicaid, Medicare, CARF,  and other funding sources.
  7. Participate in the development and review of Individual Service Plans.
  8. Provide consultative services to clients, parents and/or other care givers to enhance the delivery of services identified in Individual Service Plans.
  9. Other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  2. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology
  3. State-issued license by Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology
  4. Experience working with clients in a team/collaborative setting
  5. Prefer training and experience in evaluating and providing Alternative/Augmentative Communication (AAC) services • Demonstrate knowledge and adherence    to HIPAA legislation and other patient privacy laws
  6. Possess a valid Ohio driver’s license with no more than two (2) moving violations and have reliable daily transportation.
  7. Must possess the ability to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.

Salary : $63,000
