JOB SUMMARY:
The Incident Management Analyst position exists to assist the Director of Quality Improvement with investigating (in person) alleged policy, regulatory, and accreditation violations, reporting findings and maintaining database of critical incidents for both UCP of Georgia (75% allocation) and UCP of South Carolina (25%). The analyst works in conjunction with the full QI team to implement an agency-wide, continuous quality improvement process, and advocates for the continued improvement of services delivered by the agency.
EDUCATION OR TRAINING REQUIREMENT: Bachelor’s degree preferred in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Communications, or related field. Degree requirements may be waived at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer, given equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the field of Developmental Disabilities.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience conducting investigative work in a like environment.
SKILLS REQUIREMENT:
- Ability to gather facts and data, analyze their meaning, and thoroughly synopsize findings utilizing both verbal and written communication avenues.
- Utilization of active listening skills (giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate)
- Working knowledge of funding, licensing and accrediting body regulations and standards.
- Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
- Ability to see the “big picture” of a system in its entirety, without diminishing the importance of details.
- Maintaining an attitude of flexibility as it relates to the fluid nature of quality improvement initiatives.
- Fluency in, and experience with data manipulation within Microsoft Office programs (including, but not limited to, Excel). Preferred experience utilizing and accessing Therap or similar Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to always exercise discretion to protect the confidentiality of records, individuals served and employees of United Cerebral Palsy.
- Ability to manage multiple investigations (at various stages) as well as other administrative tasks efficiently with adherence to internal and external deadlines.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains a working knowledge of funding, licensing and accrediting body regulations and standards, and what actions constitute violations of these policies.
- Maintains a working knowledge of UCP of Georgia/South Carolina policies and procedures related to service provision and participates in policy regular policy reviews and revisions as needed.
- Conduct internal investigations, in-person, as assigned and complete appropriate final reports per regulatory and accreditation standards, including but not limited to DBHDD, HFR, and DDSN. Any exceptions must be pre-authorized by the Director of Quality Improvement.
- Perform unannounced, quarterly (or as assigned if investigatory work-load is experiencing an increase) on-site visits and/or audits of UCP program sites, to include facility, program, and on-site records to ensure compliance related to regulatory and best practice standards as part of a quality improvement review and/or an incident/ CAP monitoring. The quantity of visits will be based on a minimum of 10% of submitted CAPS and/or IRs.
- Maintains various databases for the purposes of tracking and trending things such as incident reports, external monitoring data, agency adverse action appeals, and other issues as assigned by the QI Director.
- Completes regular reports for internal data analysis. Reports include – but are not limited to – gathering of data related to agency wide quality initiatives and performance indicators, as assigned by the QI Director.
