General Purpose of the Job
Manages the fund raising events for UCP of Long. Responsible for managing events and ensuring deadlines and budgets are adhered to. Directs coordination of activities to prepare for the day of the event.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the planning, project management and delivery of event logistics for all special fund raising events
- To market, recruit and promote the events through various channels, including visiting and presenting to companies where necessary.
- Recruits committee members / volunteers and works very closely with them.
- Prepares reports, invitations, letters and all necessary printed material for committee meetings and events.
- Works well with all departments of the agency represent UCP of Long Island in the community / events
- Interacts with vendors and negotiate contracts which is essential to producing profitable events
- Ensures that events operate to budget and meet income targets.
- Manage Special Events department calendar, coordinating with other departments to reserve space and resources as needed.
- Other duties as assigned the Director and Assistant Director of Development.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred.
Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Razor's Edge Development software and Word Processing software.
Other Skills and Abilities
Must be articulate and accurate.
Ability to handle situations in a professional and calm matter, excellent time management skills
