DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES

Full Time –Salary Exempt
REPORTS TO
CEO/President
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direct supervision of the President/CEO, the Director of Human Resources will coordinate all aspects of the day-to-day functions of human resource management for United Cerebral Palsy of the Inland Empire (UCPIE).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Work with President/CEO to assure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Submit compliance reports as necessary to appropriate agencies such as UCPIE’s benefits administrator, financial auditor, etc.

Oversee benefits
- Work with executive staff to structure job duties and job titles, create additional positions as the organization grows, and make recommendations for compensation and benefits.
- Manage annual benefit renewals.
- Oversee UCPIE’s safety program
- Oversee leaves for UCPIE personnel
- Supervise staffing & recruitment operations in conjunction with the President/CEO
- Oversee UCPIE employee separation process.
- Assure HR software systems meet the needs of UCPIE

Work across UCPIE departments to train and oversee supervisory personnel
- Ensure management is aware and able to implement UCPIE personnel policies and procedures
- Work with supervisory staff to address staff performance challenges to include employee counseling, verbal warnings, written warnings, and performance contracts
- Work with accounting, IT, Program staff, and other staff as necessary to meet reporting, compliance, and goal metrics set by UCPIE executive staff

Communicate with UCPIE personnel regarding any concerns they may have with their job duties or immediate supervisor
- Conduct investigations as necessary
- Mediate as necessary
- Make recommendations to executive staff as necessary

Flag necessary HR functions to the executive staff to be updated as the organization grows and the needs of personnel change
- Participate in executive meetings
- Recommend to executive staff when UCPIE’s HR consultant company needs to do work on behalf of UCPIE for example, when a task is outside of the Director of HR’s area of expertise

WORK ENVIRONMENT & EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, scanners, and photocopiers. The HR Director will work a typical Monday–Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule; however, they must be available to work evenings and weekends when job duties demand availability around the typical schedule.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position can require employee to sit for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours). The employee is also frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to type, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
TRAVEL
This job requires some travel; the employee must be able to drive their own vehicle to onboarding and job fair appointments throughout the Inland Empire.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- A.A. in Human Resources or SHRM certification equivalent
- 2 years’ experience working as an HR Generalist or related experience as an HR Generalist, including but not limited to: employee recruitment and selection, OSHA, AA, EEO, Worker’s Comp, employment law, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and additionally, experience in a supervisory/management role.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office (365), ADP.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid vehicle registration
- Valid vehicle insurance
WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE
- Fingerprint clearance through the FBI and DOJ.
- Legally eligible to work in the U.S.A.
