The Assistant Accounting Manager will plan, perform, and direct the department's accounting activities.

The Assistant Accounting Manager will plan, perform, and direct the department's accounting activities.
- Works with the accounting staff to meet the reporting and consolidate financial reporting deadlines, budget preparation, monthly account analyses, taxes, etc.
- Works with factory controller and understands the results against budget.
- Conducts performance evaluations.
- Coordinates and identifies training needs for current staff.
- Checks information and data for accuracy and completeness and corrects and completes them on time.
- Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
- Assists with preparing business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
- Assists with producing monthly financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
- Actively involved with preparing and supplying supporting documentation of financial and JSOX audits. Audit planning throughout the fiscal year.
- Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
- Review contracts to understand accounting and financial risks.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Create accounting workflow charts, write processes, and document them.
- Account analysis and monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
- Excellent use of Microsoft Excel and Outlook products.
- Excellent management and supervisory skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in ERP accounting software. Experience with JDE, SAP, and AS 400 is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, statistics, or closely related field.
- Eight years or more of related experience is required.
- A certified Public Accountant designation is not required.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry desired.
