Accounting Specialist

United Community Bank is in search of an Accounting Specialist to be located at the UCB Operations Center in Auburn, IL. This position will assist the Controller and CFO with the accounting operations of the company. Full Time Hours, Monday - Friday.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Balance and reconcile various accounts including the bank's correspondent accounts;
• Assist with a variety of duties related to maintaining the bank's financial records
• Compiles information and completes filing of unclaimed property for the bank
• Additional duties as required

Qualifications and Credentials:

Accounting coursework or relevant experience preferred

Competencies and Abilities:

• Knowledge in financial institution accounting, auditing, and operations

• Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet and database applications;

• Exercises a high degree of initiative, judgment, and discretion;

• High-level analytical skills
• Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.

Attendance Requirements:

Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to start work. Employees are expected to remain at work for their entire work schedule. Late arrival, early departure or other absences from scheduled hours should be avoided.

Working Conditions:

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
