REPORTS TO: Chief Credit Officer
DEPARTMENT: Credit - Ponte Vedra, FL
Summary: Oversee all aspects of the “Direct” underwriting function and review transaction requests from the “Indirect” business units that exceed their local credit authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, Dun & Bradstreet reports and other third party information to determine the borrower’s creditworthiness.
- Make credit decisions on transactions within assigned credit authority and make recommendations on transactions requiring local Credit Committee approval or UCBI Bank approval.
- Correspond and interact with Sales personnel to communicate the need for additional credit information as well as communicating justification for decisions.
- Maintain ownership of PD risk rating models/templates and make changes as necessary to ensure accurate rating process is in place for all credit decisions.
- Constantly review credit processes for changes to ensure maximum efficiency while maintaining sound credit decisions and provide training as necessary to ensure consistency across all business units.
- Maintain ownership for the LGD methodology and provide monthly and quarterly updates to corporate accounting.
- Maintain tracking log for all credit exposures in excess of $500M, including completion of any Annual and Quarterly Credit reviews necessary.
- Assist CCO in setting and maintaining sound Credit Policies.
- Perform timely performance reviews for all direct reports.
Education and other credentials:
- 4-year College or University degree preferred, or 10 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer skills required: Excel spreadsheets
- Previous equipment leasing/loan industry experience required.

- Supervise staff of analysts within the “Direct” underwriting process.
