Description
The Dental Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the operation of the dental practice to give patients a good experience and setting standards for clinic employees. To include helping patients at the front desk, setting office budgets, and leading the team of office staff to promote a well-organized and efficient practice.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure office productivity for all daily office activities.
- Assist dental director in developing and managing internal office procedures and practices.
- Maintaining the dental clinic’s cash control, staff schedules, and coordination with billing team.
- Delivering direct individual and team leadership to ensure all office employees produce outstanding patient service.
- Coordinating the day-to-day execution of office practices that increase productivity and efficiency.
- Responding to clinical and operational issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist dental director in creating and implementing an effective office budget.
- Hiring, supervising, and training new office employees.
- Assist dental director in preparing monthly reports for the Board of Directors Finance Committee and Board Meetings as requested.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management of all financial aspects of dental practice
- Scheduling of patient appointments
- Assisting with department marketing and public relations
- Implementing procedures and policies
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- A high school diploma or relevant certification is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of dental administration experience.
- Should have exceptional leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Dedicated to delivering excellent customer service.
- Must be friendly, professional, and highly organized.
- Solid understanding of dental billing and insurance procedures.
- Previous dental experience is beneficial.
- Assist with other Human Resources procedures for supervised staff.
- Attend annual CE to maintain current industry standards & skills
- All other duties as assigned.
- Reliable means of transportation and proof of valid vehicle insurance
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
- Current CPR certification
- Valid Arizona driver’s license
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
- High degree of initiative and ability to work with minimum supervision under strict time constraints.
- Strong practical knowledge of Dental practice and staff supervision
- Experience utilizing spreadsheets and dental practice software along with other Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, and statistical inferences.
- Ability to work successfully with various departments to educate them about the dental program and procedures and developing management tools for practice growth and ongoing improvement.
- Strong degree of attention to details and mathematical accuracy
- A positive, professional attitude
- A team player; able to work in and foster a team environment
