What You’ll Do
- Manage all aspects of a commercial loan portfolio, including annual reviews, compliance, and risk assessment.
- Collaborate with local leadership to maintain a balanced risk profile in the market loan portfolio.
- Exercise credit authority as designated by senior management.
- Lead and mentor a team of credit specialists, portfolio managers, and analysts.
- Oversee workflow delegation and ensure the timely preparation of credit memos, financial spreads, and reports.
- Actively engage in all aspects of the loan process, including client interaction, underwriting, and credit approval.
- Identify and collect essential data to analyze credit requests effectively.
- Prepare commitment letters and review loan documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Serve as a secondary contact for key client relationships, fostering strong customer engagement.
- Identify and leverage cross-selling opportunities with both new and existing clients.
- Support and coach team members in developing business acumen and client relationships.
- Proactively assist lenders in prospecting efforts and participate in client calls as needed.
- 7-10 years of experience in financial services with a focus on commercial lending.
- In-depth knowledge of credit policy, banking regulations, and loan documentation.
- Proven expertise in analyzing and interpreting complex financial statements and tax returns.
- Strong analytical skills to assess financial health and identify strengths and risks.
- Ability to prepare and present comprehensive credit analysis reports.
- Extensive experience with various loan structures and credit recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and senior executives.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities in a high-performance environment.
- Proficiency in internal banking systems and reporting tools.
- Commitment to compliance training and adherence to industry regulations.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background & credit check
