What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Professional - Clinical Services position at United Counseling Services?
About the Role
As a Community Clinician at United Counseling Services, you will provide clinical services to mental health and/or substance use clients. This role requires under the direction of the Northshire Assistant Director to manage client cases, consult with area schools and agencies, and provide education services to the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and counsel individuals and families with mental health and/or substance use problems
- Provide specialized assessment/screening services based on professional concentration and training, such as psychological testing or substance use evaluations
- Offer mental health and/or substance use consultation to the community, area agencies, the professional community, and schools as required
- Participate in telephone support, treatment planning sessions, and other case management activities
Clinical Record-Keeping and Administrative Duties
You will be responsible for initiating and maintaining timely and thorough records and administrative documentation required to account for services provided to clients. This includes attending and actively participating in coordinative, administrative, and clinical meetings to inform, problem-solve, and coordinate services and programs.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of a master's degree in social work, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, psychiatric nursing, or a related human services field. You should also have strong computer skills, including typing, navigating Windows, and email usage.
